Wheatland senior Erica Grotegeer won the girls discus throw title with a personal-best 174-9 in the fifth round at the CIF State Outdoor Championship at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Grotegeer became the first girls discus champion from the Northern Section since Gridley's Leslie Deniz in 1980.
